Notice of New Speed Limit on Shane Drive and Kristen Circle

The Board of Commissioners passed an ordinance at the December 1, 2010 meeting changing the speed limit on Shane Drive and Kristen Circle.
Effective immediately the speed limit is 15 MPH on these streets. Speed limit signs are being posted the week of December 6, 2010. Any questions should be directed to the Township Manager at 610-323-7717.

Greetings fellow residents! I hope you are all enjoying the remainder of your summer and hope it has been a safe and enjoyable one thus far; despite the torrid heat we had to endure.
Soon we’ll all be complaining about the long cold and dreary winter. Let’s hope the snow is a little lighter this year. No matter, we’ll all get through it together.
We, Commissioners, have been working hard on several issue the last few months; some have been resolved and some are ongoing. One project that I hope you are all aware of by now is our “purchase” of the Colonial Swim Club. No matter your stance on this issue it is one that we hope will have a positive and long term impact on our Township.
When we were approached by the Board members of the Swim Club it was a “no brainer” for many of us. The Swim Club was in need of almost immediate assistance and rather than “hang them out to dry” so to speak, we stepped up and did what was necessary to assume their financial obligations as well as full ownership of the Club. Community Day is September 26th

This years West Pottsgrove Township Community Day celebration will be held on Sunday, September 26th, 2010 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This year there will be a concert by the Community Band from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. There will be games and rides for kids, carriage rides for everyone and vendors. Food and drinks will be on sale by vendors and the township.
The West End Fire Department will have a smoke house to help everyone learn about fire safety. The Police Department will have a K-9 Demonstration and the Graterford Mounted Patrol will be on hand. There will be crafters, food vendors and something for everyone.
Don’t forget to come out to the 3rd Annual “Cruise In” sponsored by the Pottstown-Stowe Lions Club from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on September 25th. There will be a display of classic cars and other show cars along with music at the Township Building. Refreshment will be offered for sale, with proceeds going to help the blind and sight impaired of our area. Registration can be completed by contacting any Lions club member or at the Township Office.
Anyone wishing to set up a table as a craft vendor or yard sale participant should contact Joanne at the Township Office (610) 323-7717; spaces are available for a $5 donation. We are looking for volunteers to help with the day’s activities. If there are any service clubs looking for a project contact the Township office.
We look forward to seeing everyone from our community at the Township Building for a fun filled day of activities.
West Pottsgrove Gets a New Website

We proud to launch our brand new website for the Township. Here are quick list of new website features.
The Township now has an offical YouTube page. We will be using our YouTube page to show videos of our township as well as video from events.
All citizens can now be notified every time we update our website by using our new email update service.
News and ordinances will be housed in a blog style format.
We thank everyone for their support. We are encouraging citizens to interact with our new website by sending photos, commenting on news posts, or by subscribing to our email update service.
